This workshop encompasses the idea of intersecting science and art through the lens of electronic textiles and wearable technology. During four hours of e-textile prototyping, participants learn how to use materials such as conductive fabrics and yarns to construct wearable antennas and amplifiers that will allow them to sonify the hidden electromagnetic fields that surround our bodies. The workshop will end with an electromagnetic walk around Pioneer Square to experience the invisible waves that propagate in the urban environment.
The workshop is open to everyone. No previous knowledge of electronic circuitry, or crafting is necessary.
Bring with you a piece of fabric, or a garment you wish to hack and a pair of audio headphones.
