Join Applied and SDOT in conversation and learn more about the new Seamless Seattle wayfinding system, from conception to implementation.
Seattle’s economy has been growing at more than twice the national average largely as a result of the local tech-based industries, this growth has led to Seattle becoming the second fastest-growing city in America. The City has taken great strides to manage the demand for travel generated by this growth and is highly focused on ensuring walking, cycling and transit offer people real options over driving.
Seattle’s Department of Transportation (SDOT) has a long-term ambition for Seattle to become the most walkable and accessible city in America and as part of achieving that goal, have appointed wayfinding specialists Applied to create a city-wide wayfinding system to encourage and enable more walking. Based on the successful Legible London model, developed and implemented by Applied in London and now lauded as the benchmark for complex city wayfinding, Seamless Seattle will make the city more legible and accessible for local residents and commuters as well as the more than 40 million visitors that travel to Seattle each year.
As we emerge into a new post-COVID world it feels fitting that Seattle unveils this new legible system for the city which will encourage more exploration and access for all citizens.
This experience will take place in the SDF Block Party Pop-Up Zone!
