  • Seattle Department of Transportation

  • American Society of Landscape Architects Washington Chapter (WASLA)

  • In partnership with the Washington Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (WASLA) and Design in Public, this year SDOT will hold a celebration and awards ceremony at the Center for Architecture & Design from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM on September 21 to recognize the installations that YOU vote for as exemplifying the goals of PARK(ing) Day. So have fun, be creative, and maybe you’ll be honored with the:

+Pavement Upcycle Award: Most creative use of space -Helps people to shift their perspective from a parking space into an alternate reality capable of shifting perspectives
+Collective Effervescence Award: Most connected to community – Produces a magical experience when participants have an emotional connection that happens when we are part of something bigger than ourselves
+TRUST Award: Most interactive programming – Actively engages passerby in activities, discussion, and/or educational opportunities that are designed for TRUST (the theme of this year’s Seattle Design Festival)
