  • Do You See What I See? prompts a dialogue about the proxies we use to make sense of our situation and surroundings. We explore how our experiences and contexts create a unique lens, shaping how we perceive and interact with the people and places around us. The installation operates as an interactive program to share different narratives and examine the implicit biases embedded in the proxies we rely on: do they provide safety, protect privileges, or other? And how might our proxies help us build trust or undermine trust? We aim to address the politics of cultural norms and how these color our unique lens on the world, as well as highlight the contrast between intention and outcome.
