Missed the SDF 2018 Block Party or just can’t get enough of the interactive installations that popped up all over Occidental Park earlier this month? You’re in luck! In partnership with the Downtown Seattle Association and Seattle Parks and Recreation, this year the Seattle Design Festival has two centerpiece installations that will have an extended presence in Pioneer Square, September 6 – 25. The Seattle Design Festival curators chose the two firm teams, LMN Architects + Arup and Mahlum, due to their longstanding involvement in the festival and having built exemplary installations at past Block Parties.

In addition, we partnered again with the Downtown Seattle Association to find new homes for several of the Block Party projects. You can visit the following projects all over downtown Seattle through the end of September, 2018.

PLUS, be sure to join us for PARK(ing) Day on Friday, September 21, where you visit 62 pop-up parks all across Seattle, from Lake City to Rainier Beach, and everywhere in between! Originating as a grassroots movement, PARK(ing) Day has served as a way to repurpose public space and allows for communities to add park space where it is currently limited.
