Support Design in the Public Realm
We believe that design is for everyone. We believe that design generates creative solutions to pressing issues that affect all of us. We believe that inclusive co-design practices are essential to shaping an equitable Seattle.
Design in Public is a platform for bold design conversations. Our 2018 programs explored TRUST, DISPLACEMENT and COMMUNITY-LED DESIGN.
The 2018 Seattle Design Festival gathered 21,000+ attendees, 145 partners, 90+ programs and installations, and 20+ design disciplines that explored design and TRUST.
Imagine Africatown: Central District Design Weekend gathered designers, planners, developers, and community members of all ages to vision and design a future that celebrates and preserves Black/African diaspora culture in the Central District.
Displaced: Design for Inclusive Cities – a global design competition called upon designers of all disciplines to apply the power of design thinking to the urgent need to welcome, support, and empower urban immigrants and refugees.
We count on you to bring hundreds of free and affordable public programming to 30,000+ people citywide year after year. Your investment today amplifies our work and signals a shared belief that design in the public realm sparks important discussions that foster collaboration and change.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 by December 31st. Your gift, in whatever amount is meaningful to you, is an investment in our mission and our programming, and we are deeply grateful for your contribution. Thank you!
