  • Recharge the Battery invites all Seattle area residents to help us re-imagine the future of one of Seattle’s most under-appreciated infrastructural icons, the Battery Street Tunnel.

As part of the b’End Tunnel Initiative, Recharge the Battery is an open call for ideas, suggestions, and stories to inspire possibility, encourage curiosity, and promote the free exchange of community ideas regarding the fate of the Battery Street Tunnel. Download the PDF for more information about how to submit. Submission deadline extended to September 17, 2017.

Recharge the Battery represents the second phase of the b’End Tunnel Initiative, which will continue to activate the Battery Street Tunnel narrative throughout the decommissioning cycle — all submissions will be featured as part of a public exhibition at Block 41, in collaboration with Seattle Design Festival.
