This summer, Power Posing will hit the streets of Seattle. Made famous by Amy Cuddy’s TED Talk from 2012, Power Posing harnesses the potential of body language in communicating self-confidence. Scientific research shows that acting powerfully leads to feeling powerful, and gaining power when you want or need it. This is especially important for women and minorities in the competitive and male-dominated industries of design, construction, and engineering. The installation will teach people a variety of Power Poses and the science behind them. Visitors are invited to pose for a photo. Instant Polaroid images can be pasted up to our communal pose board to display the diversity of Seattleites for a mosaic effect of Power.
